Pretty Primrose Pots

I couldn't resist.  I'm a total sucker for plants, especially those with bright, happy colors.

I found these cute little Primrose plants at the Home Depot the other day while I was looking for a new paint brush.  They were only a $1.25 each.  SOLD!

I had a few white pots that have been sitting in the garage for awhile now waiting for the right thing to fill them up.  Yes, all of the pots are different, but I think the common color gives a nice cohesive look.

I wanted a bit of variation in height, just for visual interest...do I sound like I know what I'm talking about?  Good, I've got ya fooled.  I took my small white clay pot that I've painted at some point and plopped it into a glass vase I had...it was a perfect fit, and gave me a little height.

I love the color these are bringing onto my kitchen table.  At least the inside is popping, even when outside is a bit dreary.

Pretty cheap mood elevation.  Not even my husband could complain about me spending to much. :)

Now we'll see how long I can keep them alive.

  2. Oh, I love me some Primrose. So sweet and colorful. I got a pot of purple ones a couple of weeks ago (but not at the fabulous price you did). Mine have finished blooming but I did enjoy them. Thanks for sharing your great pictures and the idea about adding height to the pot. I saw your post over at "2805" blog party.

  3. I saw those at Home Depot too! I almost bought them but I don't get much lighting in my condo...especially where I want to keep them. I get nervous when I see a plant tag that says "bright light" or "high light". What does that mean exactly..LOL! Can you tell I'm an amateur when it comes to plants! Did you have to place new soil when you you place them in your pots? And I must say I love the idea of placing one in the clear vase to add height..brilliant idea!

  4. I did have to use a bit of potting soil when I put the plants in the new pots. I think high light means a spot that gets direct sunlight for the majority of the day, at least that's my take on it.:) The spot I have them in though doesn't get much direct lighting at all, but the plants have lasted for awhile. I figured it wasn't that big of a deal if they didn't since they were only a few bucks and would be temporary until I changed my mind on what I wanted there. Thanks for stopping by and leaving such a great comment!
